Yummy Tofu Stir Fry Recipe

I was looking for a vegan tofu stir fry recipe and few days ago I discovered and tried out this one. Needless to say I was so surprised with its beautiful taste. So I’d like to share it with you.

  • 1- 14 ounce firm tofu
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 2½ cups green beans, chopped
  • 1 cup carrots, cut lengthwise


  • 1 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1½ tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1½ tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon red peppre flakes
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water


Before cutting the tofu it should be dried as much as possible. You can dry it with a folded tea towels. Place a tea towel in the shape of the tofu on a plate and then place the tofu in the prepared plate. Put another tea towel on top followed by another plate and anything that that weighs enough (2-3 pounds) that can help removing the water from the tofu. Let the tofu for some time (about 20 minutes or more) and then cut it up in 1-inch cubes and toss in one tablespoon of cornstarch.

While waiting for the tofu to dry, make the sauce. Mix all the ingredients for the sauce in a blender, blend until smooth and then set side.

Put a large pan over medium-high heat, pour 2 tablespoons of oil and swirl to coat pan. Add the cut tofu and let fry for about 3 minutes. When all the sides of the tofu are brown, add 2 tablespoons of the prepared sauce and let it cook for another 3 minutes. When the tofu is caramelized, it’s done. Remove it to a plate.

In a pan pour 1 tablespoon of oil, add vegetables and toss to coat. The vegetables should be cooked for about 3-4 minutes. Add the sauce and wait until thicken slightly. Then add the tofu and stir to coat. Cook for 2 more minutes.

Serve it warm. You can serve it on its own or with rice, quinoa.
